How It Works

The VoltApex variable auto transformer operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction with a single winding that serves as both primary and secondary:

  1. Input voltage is applied across the full winding
  2. A movable carbon brush contacts the winding at a variable point
  3. Output voltage is tapped from this contact point
  4. Rotating the control knob moves the brush smoothly along the winding
  5. This provides continuous voltage adjustment from 0V up to the input voltage
  6. Precision components ensure minimal waveform distortion
