Advanced Shielding Techniques for Ultra-Isolation Transformers

What is an electrostatic shield? Learn the engineering behind VoltApex's noise-suppressing ultra-isolation transformers.

The Science of Silence: Electrostatic Shielding in Transformers

An isolation transformer's ability to filter noise is largely dependent on its shielding. Standard units may have one shield, but VoltApex Ultra-Isolation Transformers utilize a multi-shield approach to achieve industry-leading noise rejection. This article explains how we use copper foils and grounding techniques to create an electrical 'fortress' for your machinery.

The Role of the Faraday Shield

Between the primary and secondary windings, we place a grounded copper foil known as a Faraday Shield. This shield catches high-frequency noise that would otherwise couple capacitively across the windings. By shunting this noise directly to the ground, we ensure the output is clean. At VoltApex, we take this further by using 'Triple Shielding' in our premium units, providing separate layers for the primary, the secondary, and a master shield, achieving noise attenuation levels that competitors simply cannot match.
